This is a WILD podcast. Definitely not for the faint of heart. Definitely NSFW. I uhhhh. Not one of my best ideas. I don’t get disturbed easily...I was disturbed quite often while listening.

Love love love. My first time listening was the episode about Broken Arrow, OK. I live 15 from Broken Arrow and have been obsessing over that case since it happened. The mood, the background noise, the voice. It is so good and spooky. 10/10.

Good podcast

Once you get used to Justin’s speech cadence this is a very good podcast. I like the way he leans into the stories he narrates. He demonstrates that narrating true crime is not just a job for him

Well done, but...

I like the overall quality and most of the cases are worth listening to BUT the voice is what has me turning it off. I can hear the guy’s normal voice during a commercial or two or I can at least hear he isn’t putting on the “story” voice quite as much. I’d really recommend just talking in your normal voice and stop trying for the deep because it’s not working well. Otherwise, keep at it and grow. Cheers.

Riveting

I found this podcast just a week ago, I’ve binged all seasons! I love that this podcast is raw, honest and told with by a host who shoots straight from the hip. Love black label, please keep it coming. Great research and story telling. Bravo!

Great!!

This is my first true crime podcast, I have been looking for a true crime podcast to fill my time as I work my 7 hour shift everyday and this is excellent! The research and information that you find is on par and something about the way you tell it really makes time just pass right by at work. So thank you for helping me through my dull, mind numbing work day with an awesome, interesting show. My only critique is I would love for longer episodes, although I am content with the current length.

Thank you for the episodes involving Charlottesville and Heather Heyer. I’m from Charlottesville and we live with that day. Also remember the state trooper helicopter that went down. They were lost two. The state police are obligated to give a clear and direct answer to what happened.

Big Fan of this Man!

The crackling campfire lends just the right atmosphere for telling the stories presented. Justin is sincere and soulful while covering the well-researched topics. Calming voice that ironically keeps you on the edge of your seat because of the subject matter. Not a lot of ridiculous banter and self-congratulatory nonsense in the mix, which I find grating on other podcasts. Just straight up fact-checked narrative. A+++. If I could give more stars, I definitely would!

Just the way I like it

I’m super picky and I like straight up crime and gore not comedy and giggling about inside jokes (not really gory but he won’t leave out things if it does get intense). This is an amazing podcast. No talking for 15 mins in the beginning, and he respects the victims. Love it 😍

More details than other podcasts

The way the cases are told and the level of research done makes this one of the only podcasts for which I don’t mind listening to cases done by other shows! I also like that there are a lot of cases that I’m hearing about for the first time!

How did I just find this?

I was just scrolling a Reddit feed and Obscura popped up as a good graphic pod with a host that’s not awful like some other graphic pod hosts. I only wish I’d found this show sooner. It’s well researched and gives gravity to the situations described. I like the straight forward narrative and the one host format more than I thought I would coming over from STM which is much different.

Binge-Worthy

I’ll admit, it took about 2-3 episodes for me to get into this podcast. I’m glad I stuck it out , though, because I haven’t heard about a lot of the episode topics. Some of the clips do tend to go on a bit long but it’s not that big of a deal to me.
