Awesome

I love the narrators voice and I love this podcast more because of how he chooses to tell these true crimes. He tells it with extra love and care for the victim/victims. I never feel like he is only entertaining me, I feel like he really wants you to think about these crimes and every person involved and learn something from it about humanity. You can hear how much skill, time, and care that he and his team put in to each episode. Signed a new listener slowly working her way up from episode one🖤 You do a great job!

Fantastic podcast

I’ve been listening to many true crime podcasts on and off for years now and this one absolutely takes the cake. Justin is a great host! It seems he and his team take very serious interest in the cases themselves and tell the story with care and grace, often with a side of sadness and remorse, recognizing how awful the events are. Keep it up 10/10!

Wish I’d Found This Sooner

I appreciate that Justin tells the story without adding his opinion. The bias and politics of the host/writer will always ruin a True Crime Podcast for me. The story should be about the victim and their life, loved ones, etc. Not the narcissistic host. Well done Justin.

Murder + Details

Great show, uses narration and media clips to tell the story. I like that Justin doesn’t spare the details of the stories.

One of the best.

This is one of my favorite podcasts. The host does such a good job at narrating and the team who puts the episodes together do an amazing job. I listen at work and it makes my day fly by. Justin, if you read this, thanks so much for all of the work you do!

Fantastic podcast

Justin is great host, he's articulate and has a lot of empathy for the stories he covers. He does a great job researching his topics and he covers cases that I haven't heard a million times. This has been added to my roatation and I look forward to binging it!

Great podcast

This is hands down my favorite podcast. Justin doesn’t beat around the bush. He gets to the facts and explains stories that most people have never heard of. He has a great radio voice. Educational but also empathetic. He cares for the people in the stories he tells and wants to educate the public. I love this show. Justin, you’re doing great! Keep it up! Also black label is even more amazing and I highly recommend it.

A great podcast

I’ve been listening for a while and really like this show. Great subjects for episodes, well-presented and engaging. The host/writer is much more compassionate and respectful than many other true crime podcasts. Justin doesn’t sacrifice his morals or the truth for clicks, and he doesn’t victim-blame or harass and re-victimize the victims, nor does he plagiarize in his writing. You’d think this is all standard and a given, but sadly it’s not. Very good show! Great job, Justin, and thanks for your hard work.

Great true crime story telling

I love true crime, obviously. Justin has a great way of weaving together the story of each crime in this podcast. I’m finding new crimes I’d never heard of before. His research is in depth and compelling to listen to. I’m glad to have this podcast to entertain me throughout my workday. Keep up the good work!

Love his choices of true crimes to highlight

I love this podcast and look forward to every new episode. Justin focuses on interesting cases, some of which I have not heard of before. His three episode feature of the infamous 1920s-era Leopold and Loeb case got me hooked! He has a great voice, good timing and pacing, and picks some excellent stories. Most of my podcast listening is true crime. Give it a shot!

If you are a true crime fan ignore the negative

I’m not sure why people are complaining over a few mispronunciations. The cases dealt with on here are finally a breath of fresh air for us who love true crime. Why? Cause this podcast actually covers new ground and doesn’t waste time rehashing ancient cases that have been done to death. If you want quality and originality in your true crime give this a listen.

What are all these negative reviews about?

I binged every episode within like 4 days. Super good. I will say this is one of the more hardcore content podcasts . So be warned on that. And although there are a few mispronunciations, it doesn’t ruin the podcast for me. Humans are human. And there’s plenty of other podcasts that funk up names of places. Only downside is that I need more episodes!

Always interesting

I thoroughly enjoy this podcast and have even become a patron for extra content. Justin always gives all the juicy details while still managing to pay respect to the victims. My only complaint is I wish new episodes came out more frequently as I’ve binged everything that’s out now at least three times. Obscura is awesome!

Is it me?!

I love this podcast but I have this nagging feeling that it is Jack Luna from “Dark Topic”, but without the rambling! Can you have a voice doppelgänger? Crazy, ironic and familiar but very good! I loved Jack so it was easy to enjoy this podcast!
